Look at us! We form the band!

"Goodnight Gracie", say it!
'(Say) Goodnight Gracie' is the brainchild of George Burns. Yeah, we stole his quote. But so did some gangsters. And like the gangsters, we use it in a different context. Because when Gracie dreams; everything turns a different shade of grey, see? So you better say 'Goodnight Gracie' and we will dream for you.
 History
You could say that Gaz and Wytse are the core of the band. They've been planning to start a band together ever since the Lowlands festival 2001. They started playing with Pepijn, the drummer from 'High Feather', as 'F.A.R.T.' but they wanted something else then just retro rock 'n roll. After Gaz broke his wings (overloaded his arms) there was need for a substitute guitarist, so Mark from the punkband 'Fuzzy Hairball' was invited and Gaz just focussed on singing and songwriting. We got into contact with a drummer living a town away via a friend. Joost, former 'Hedone'. But he quit after 2 sessions, just 2 days before our first gig. So we s*cked Joey's dick, and did the gig, with him. Joey has agreed to stay with us till we find a new drummer, and we are so grateful because we can keep playing instead of lying still.
The band known as FART still exists, but it is more of a leisure band. The gig/pratice ratio was a 1:1. We couldn't really find the time to do more with the concept. But if the opportunity rises we're allways ready to play some good old rock 'n roll.

* note: This was an interview done by Wytse for the occasion of us reaching the finals of the Gooische Goden band contest. Unfortunately Mark and I were away and luckily RJ filled in on bass.
People/the media have a knack for labeling bands and stressing, pinning them down with genres. Admitted; it's easy reference. Let's just say that we are not (just) hardcore OR emo and maybe just post-indie something because those are just some of the more important influences and historical terms and definitions that we do not fit. As Wytse made clear in the interview, the INTENTIONS of how the band makes their music is more important then naming.
I'd like to think we're heading for something new. Spread the word, people, it's NEMO!
